2020 Price List of the Available Drawings

Unlike most drawings commercially available either from museums of musical instruments or from private individuals, these drawings are printed very accurately to scale in both length and width to an accuracy of at least 1mm in 1000mm.

All of the paper drawings listed below are printed on 80gsm cartridge paper, but all of the white mylar drawings listed below are now available printed on 180gsm heavy film.  Mylar is a stable plastic film which, unlike paper, changes in size only imperceptibly both with changes in humidity and temperature.  Therefore the dimensions of the drawing will not vary over the time period in which an instrument or stand is made while using the drawing.  The prices of these drawing reflects their new improved quality!

Please decide how many of the drawings and in what material you want them, and then e-mail your postal details along with your order giving the name, type and number of the drawings that you want to:  johnny.bell@claviantica.com

We will then work out the total cost including postage and packing and let you know the details of how payment can be made.  The drawings can be sent rolled (only slightly more expensive for postage and packing) or flat folded.  Please let us know whether you want them rolled or flat packed and where to ship the papers.  We also need to know whether you would like them sent by standard post (air mail is standard outwith the UK - air mail is reliable and fast) or by express courier (much more expensive and only marginally faster).

The instrument drawn and discussed here is the finest instrument ever encounter by Grant O'Brien.  It was given a grand ravalement in 1750 by Francois Boucher, with decorations by some very well-known artists from mid- to late-18th century Paris.  It has a sound that is rich, full of overtones, and is very even in its harmonic structure across the whole of it's 5-octave compass.  The keys have a light touch with a very advantageous balance point making the instrument very easy to play.  There are 4 registers including 3 different 8' stops, and these provide a wide variety of sound colours, capable both of combining well together and of a bright contrast.  Many musicians who have played the instrument have stated that they, also, have never played a harpsichord with such a beautiful, refined sound.,
