PROJECT:

To Upgrade the Kakumbi Clinic in Eastern Province, Mfuwe, Zambia

Drawings of the Main Clinic Building

Possibility 3

Advantages

  1. This possibility relies on retaining the MCH building as it is at present and with a separate Lab/E.H.T. and toilet area outwith the two present Clinic buildings.
  2. MCH is separated from the infectious diseases wards.
  3. A staff toilet is provided.

Disadvantages

  1. The number of beds is reduced over the present level.
  2. There is no direct access from the wards to the toilets and showers.
  3. There is no space for lockers in the Male Ward.
  4. This option is not affordable because of the expense of renovation of one of the old nurse’s houses and the present ablution block.
