Culra Bothy roof damage caused by December 2011 storms05 Right porch roof |

The main roof (above) and the right porch roof (foreground) showing the general quality of the workmanship and the gap below the roofing sheets over the porch. The holes in the roofing near the securing bolts were made too large and have been badly sealed with mastic. The water ingress under the gap in the porch roof has been limited by Johnny and Grant with a sheet of aluminium. The lead skirt on the chimney also installed by Johnny and Grant has stopped the former major ingress of water around the chimney into both front rooms, but the internal water damage has caused the roof timbers to rot during the period when they were still wet. There is still water ingress in driving horizontal rain to the porch area (see the next image).
