The Partenope-tail register levers

Wooden models for making register levers

These are the wooden models that were used to cast the gilt bronze levers.  These models were carved by Meinrad Demetz, a woodcarver who lives and works in his small workshop above Ortisei (St Ulrich) in the Val Gardena in the Italian Dolomites.  They were carved in a fine-grained cherry wood and were extended to make them long enough to work a register levers.
